Viagra has been shown to increase
the effects of nitrates,
so men who take medicines containing nitrates (eg, Nitroglycerin) should not
take Viagra. Nor should men for whom sexual activity is prohibited because of
a cardiac condition.

Viagra has been proved to be safe with other non-nitrate medications.
The use of Viagra does not offer protection against sexually
transmitted disease, including HIV. Patients should always use
measures to protect themselves.
