Viagra is taken by mouth with
minimum side effects. The only contraindication to use is the
concomitant use of nitrates, for example, nitroglygerin. During
preliminary trials on 4500 men, only 2.5% had to drop out due
to side effects, the same number as in the placebo (test) group.
Currently, Viagra is the Number One prescribed medicine for
Erectile Dysfunction in the United States today. Over 10 million
men have tried it.
The side effects one may experience include:
- Mild headache 16%
- Flushing 11%
- Indigestion 7%
- Runny Nose 7%
- Transient Visual Effects 3%
Serious side effects are rare. There were no episodes of priapism
(continuous erection) during any of the studies. Viagra does
not cause erection without sexual stimulation.
There have been no known interactions with other medications
except nitrates.
There is no maximum age at which to take Viagra. It has been
found safe in men 85 years old. However, Viagra has not been
tested in men under 18 and is not indicated in the pediatric
age group.
It is taken one hour prior to intercourse and peaks within
60 minutes. You don't automatically get an erection, it requires
stimulation. The strongest effects are within 4 hours but some
effect has been seen after 8 hours.
The recommended dosage is once a day. |
